Pure Ambient Drifting (Ambient Rushton Podcast 100)

My 100th podcast, featuring a little over 18 minutes of pure ambient drifting before I talk at the end of the show.

While I always release my podcasts for free, I'm now also releasing them on music streaming services like Spotify and download retailers like iTunes, Amazon, and all the others.  So if you want to listen to it again, or listen to it without me talking at the end, or put it into a Spotify playlist, or pay to download it as a show of support, that is now possible.  Just search for Mark Rushton Pure Ambient Drifting.

Coils (Ambient Rushton Podcast 97)

Record the sound of a refrigerator (and make something of it...) - not only did I make a track for the 224th Disquiet Junto, I created 2 expanded versions and 4th track that has beats and bass on top.  This podcast plays a couple of those tracks and I talk about the steps in making it.

This Road (Ambient Rushton Podcast 90)

This Road is an old track of mine, from 2003, when I was making music with more of a beat.  It has ambient-ish elements throughout.  I still like it and wanted to share it in the podcast with only text presentation.  I have become more comfortable with the idea of this podcast or "audio show" rarely having me talking in the beginning or throughout.  Lately I have been thinking of going back to occasionally making more beat-based music or perhaps even pop songs.  But we'll see...  Keep following that muse, right?

In the summer of 2009, Jon Harnish and I did some outdoor electronic improvisation.  Jon on his bass guitar + effects + Memory Man looper, and me on Xiosynth.  Also playing along are the cicada, crickets, and other outdoor sounds.  Fully improvised, but very chillout all the way.  28 minutes long.  We considered the cicada to be the lead instrument and sort of played around them.  Only one edit in this recording and you'll probably never be able to tell where.
