Ambient Rushton Podcast (general)

Hi, this is Mark Rushton of markrushton.com - thanks for listening to my podcast of original or live ambient and electronic music and field recordings. This is Podcast #145 released on Sunday, January 13th of 2019.

You just heard my new track, E30 Reveal, which will be released on Spotify and other streaming services on January 17th of 2019.

Now I'm going to play some music from the past. A couple of tracks by Ambient Matyk.

What is Ambient Matyk? It's a name I've been releasing live ambient improv recordings under for the past decade or so. I've got a few releases out there as of the start of 2019, but a lot of the past catalog is not easily available, but is getting re-released in the next month or two. Right now, it's four albums of sounds. Plus... a new Ambient Matyk release coming in early February 2019.

So if you use Spotify, just go to Ambient Matyk and follow me there, if you want to hear more...

Up first is the track Ghosts In This Building, recorded in late 2016, from the album Artisan Sanctuary.... and after that is Russia's Very Low Frequency Station, the title cut of that album... and I think that track was recorded in 2005 or 2006.

Thanks again for listening, I'll be back soon with another podcast....

Hi, this is Mark Rushton of markrushton.com - thanks for listening to my podcast of original or live ambient and electronic music and field recordings. This is Podcast #144 released on Thursday, December 27th of 2018.

I released a new ambient/electronic album on December 21, 2018, called Throughput. It's 8 pieces of music. 6 have already been released in the past few months as singles, and there are two new tracks, "Security as an Engine" and the title track, Throughput, which you'll hear shortly.

So if you follow me on streaming services, such as Spotify, you should see new single tracks by me appear every 2 weeks or so, and a new album every 2 to 3 months or so. My next single will be released on January 4, 2019, and is called Haunted By The past.

My web site is markrushton.com Sign up for my mailing list, which arrives every month or two.

Coming up now is the title track to my new album, Throughput.

Thanks for listening. I'll be back soon with another podcast.

Hi, this is Mark Rushton of markrushton.com - thanks for listening to my podcast of original or live ambient and electronic music and field recordings. This is Podcast #143 produced on Sunday, November 18 of 2018.

As of November 3rd, 2018, I am affiliated with and have paintings at the Leopold Gallery in Kansas City, in the Brookside neighborhood, at 324 W 63rd St. If you're in the Kansas City area, stop by and have a look. My paintings are available for viewing at their web site: leopoldgallery.com That's leopoldgallery.com Link is in the description. Leopold Gallery is also coordinating any private commissions.

While that's big news, you're listening to this podcast because of the ambient sounds. Along those lines, I've been releasing new tracks every couple of weeks. If you follow me on Spotify and listen to the weekly Spotify Release Radar playlist, you've probably noticed this. Following me on Spotify is the easiest way to find out about new tracks.

Eventually, after I've released 7 or 8 singles, these tracks will be compiled and released as an album. For the foreseeable future, this is how I plan to release new music: a new single track every couple of weeks with an album every 3 to 4 months.

Right now, in this podcast, I'll play portions of those singles.

First up is a snippet from "Refactoring Rainy Dreams", then part of "Starwaves", followed by a section of "Radio Transmission From the Large Magellanic Cloud, then "Docking in Outer Space", and finally a portion of my forthcoming single, to be released on November 22nd, "Deep Hover".

Thanks for listening. I'll be back soon with another podcast.
